This picture looks a little "trippy", doesn't it? Well that's how I felt walking the trails in Muir Woods. Intense quiet, deep quiet... and the air so full of oxygen.

Painted Brick San Francisco
Lots of old advertisements still on the sides of buildings in San Francisco... the Bull Durham sign (with hot and cold water rooms on the left) was revealed again after many years by demolition of the building next door, and was about to be hidden by construction!

I love it when a place looks and smells just like it did when I was a kid (coffee, mint, licorice) and seemingly has the same guys hanging outside from 1965!

At the High Line
My husband and I love the High Line: a grass meadow and art park built on the old elevated train tracks in lower Manhattan. Truly wonderful views, far and near. Doesn't hurt that the Chelsea food market is right underneath!

Above are photos I took in 2009 2010 of my two favorite Copper Beech trees, each at least 90 years old, and 85 feet high. I have been near them much of the last 30 years, and refer to them in my mind as the 2 sisters. This past Spring the tree on the left was cut down, apparently due to incurable rot at the base. Honestly, I feel grief as if a dear friend is gone.

Neon
Not the greatest photo, but I liked the Art Deco aspirations of this cafe. It was in one of those post industrial small cities in Connecticut, seen better days.

I was on my way down to Chinatown for some Dim Sum, when this window caught my eye.

North End, Boston
When I was a kid, we would shop at the Haymarket and the North End. All the carts were outside, and there was a man down the street from Regina's who had a huge block of almond nougat he would chip off and sell.

Peeling Sign
I have been dealing with poor health all winter, and haven't posted much, but like Spring, I am feeling renewed. These two are a from a peeling sign found in Rockport Massachusetts last week. I liked the faded colors and the textures.
